Palau is a seaside town in the north east of Sardinia with a touristic harbor and from where you can catch the ferry to La Maddalena (by the way even our beach next to the harbor, Palau Vecchio, has the Blue Flag!)

This is the ideal location to visit the beautiful beaches of the Archipelago, Porto Pollo – known as windsurfer's paradise - and the innumerous beaches of the Gallurese coastline, the Costa Smeralda (The Emerald Coastline) and nearby Porto Rafael……not to mention various archeological sites relating to the bronze age.
Palau offers a vast choice of restaurants, pizzeria, bars and gelateria, boutiques, beauty and wellness centres, supermarkets, a weekly market on Friday mornings and, from June to September, a craft market every evening. There is also a brand new cinetheatre and an open air summer cinema.
Being in the centre you will easily walk your way around Palau.

Getting to the beach
If you have your own car or scooter there is an endless number of beaches to go to within the radius of a few miles.

If you are on foot don't worry ......you can easily walk to the sandy beaches of Palau, La Sciumara and Palau Vecchio, or rocky coves of Acapulco and Punta Palau.... all within 500 yards. Alternatively there is a Shuttle Bus to the beaches of Porto Rafael, Costa Serena and Porto Pollo (here you will find wind and kite surf schools and beach kiosks serving from breakfast in the morning to aperitifs in the evening, from hamburgers to gelato…..apart from endlessly long sandy beaches)

A visit to the islands is a must, the beaches and the crystalline waters are comparable to the most beautiful in the world and down at the Port you will find boat rentals, or you can choose a day trip to the islands of the archipelago, with or without lunch included, book a diving coarse or simply a day out snorkeling around some of our most beautiful islands on a vintage sailing boat.

We could go on and on listing things to do and see but on site, or by sending us an email with your questions, we can give you information and suggestions to organize your stay.
